This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first U.S. visit. To mark the occasion, the 2014 Haverford Music Festival is pleased to present Beatlemania Now, featuring incredible note-for-note renditions of classics from throughout the Fab Four’s entire career, including songs the Beatles themselves never performed outside of Abbey Road Studios. Adding authenticity, the musicians play the same-model instruments that the Beatles used. During the first half, they dress in identical, sharply tailored suits and boots like the Beatles did through 1966; they kick off the second half in colourful satin Victorian uniforms topped off by floppy hats and bushy mustaches, as seen on the cover of 1967’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. As the music plays on, you may find yourself flashing back to the excitement of the ‘60s, including the “British Invasion”, “Flower Power” and “Peace and Love”. We hope you will enjoy the show!
