Haverford Music Festival Announces 2012 Dates

Havertown, PA – January 10, 2012. After resounding success from the inaugural festival, the second annual Haverford Music Festival announces its date and location for 2012: Saturday, September 15th from noon to 8:00 pm in the Oakmont business section of Havertown.

“For the inaugural 2011 Haverford Music Festival, we created the model for a successful community-based music festival,” explains Tom Kelly, Haverford Music Festival’s Director. “We had 35 bands playing on two stages, which allowed us to offer continuous music for over 8 hours. Forty vendors lined Darby Road and Hathaway Lane, and our sponsors provided the funds to run a first-class festival that was thoroughly enjoyed by the 7,000 attendees. Our 100+ volunteers helped to keep the fun going all day and made sure everything ran smoothly.”

“Now that we have established the Haverford Music Festival as a key event in the cultural landscape of the township, we’re already busy planning for the 2012 Haverford Music Festival,” adds Kelly. “We’ll be bigger and better next September. Haverford Music Festival to Raffle off Eagles Autographed Footballs

Havertown, PA – September 16, 2011. The Haverford Music Festival announces that the Philadelphia Eagles have generously donated two autographed footballs. The footballs, bearing the signatures of quarterback Michael Vick and defensive back Nnamdi Asomugha, will be raffled off during the festival.

Raffle tickets can be purchased during the music festival at the Information tents near the stages and from Ground Crew ticket sales personnel. Winners will be announced in the six o’clock hour and need not be present to win.

Haverford Music Festival Announces Performer Schedule

Havertown, PA – September 12, 2011. The inaugural Haverford Music Festival scheduled for Saturday, September 17th from noon to 8:00 pm, announces its performer lineup for the two festival stages: Oakmont Field and Darby Road. Starting at 12:00 pm sharp, continuous live music plays on both stages until 8.00 pm.

“We are very proud of the quality of performers we have to offer in the festival’s first year, most of which are local” says Tom Kelly, the festival’s Director and Master of Ceremonies. “We encourage everyone in Haverford Township to come out and cheer on our home-grown talent.”

Wendy’s and Peanut Chews Join Haverford Music Festival

Havertown, PA – September 12, 2011. The Haverford Music Festival announces that Wendy’s® and Peanut Chews® will appear to distribute free samples during the festival on Saturday, September 17 starting at 12:00 pm.

Dave Thomas’ daughter, Wendy herself, makes a special guest appearance to personally give away free cheeseburgers from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Wendy’s is promoting their new Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger by taking it on tour. Wendy’s mobile Taste Tour restaurant – branded the “Hot ‘N Juicy Tour of America” – selected the Haverford Music Festival as one of the stops on its 14 week, 26 city journey.

Peanut Chews, a favorite of nut lovers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, is a high-energy candy bar, packed with peanuts and covered in chocolate. Peanut Chews were first introduced in 1917 and have for many years been manufactured in Northeast Philadelphia. Free samples are available as long as supplies last.

“We are honored to have such nationally recognized brands as Wendy’s and Peanut Chews attend our festival to share their products with our music lovers,” says Jeanette DiLuco, Director of Vendors for the Haverford Music Festival. “But let’s not forget that we also have a great variety of foods and products from our local vendors. Come out to the festival to support our local vendors and hear some great music.”

Volunteers Needed for the Haverford Music Festival

Volunteers Needed for the Haverford Music Festival – Organizational Meeting Planned for September 10, 2011.
Havertown, PA – September 5, 2011. The Haverford Music Festival, which runs from noon to 8:00 pm on September 17th, 2011 in the Oakmont business area of Havertown, needs adult men and women to staff volunteer committees.

“We need over 100 volunteers to make our music festival a success,” says Tom Kelly, the festival’s Director. “Everyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to attend the Haverford Music Festival Volunteer Meeting on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:30 am at the Oakmont Pub Patio, Eagle and Darby Roads, Havertown.”

The inaugural Haverford Music Festival needs volunteers for:

  • Stage Crew – Set up, operate, and tear down stage, sound, and lighting
  • Security – Monitor stage, VIP, and festival grounds
  • Back Stage – Expedite the flow of performers
  • General Patrol – Safeguard the festival site and vendor areas

“We have engaged multiple sponsors, recruited a wide variety of vendors, and booked over 40 performers to play at the festival, and now we need volunteers to make this community event a reality,” urges Tom Kelly. “Even if you can help for just a few hours, please come to the meeting on September 10th and sign up. Join your fellow community members in making this family-oriented event both fun and safe for all involved.”
