The Chairman Dances
The Chairman Dances are an art-rock band hailing from Philadelphia. Since 2011, they have released two records: the fifteen-track double album, Long Lost / A History Of Iniquity; and, A Promise, a concept album that traces the lives of two fictional married couples. The release of the latter in May of this year caught the attention of WXPN’s John Vettese, who writes, “Ambitious Philly rock band The Chairman Dances have graduated from indie songwriters to dramatic storytellers….” Online music magazine PAMusicScene.com proclaims, “A Promise is a subtly dark collection of songs that is overtly and brightly innovative, a record of heart-on-sleeve emoting, but somehow deliciously difficult to parse.”
The Chairman Dances play regularly at festivals, art galleries, and rock venues in Philadelphia, New York City and Baltimore. Their music is available for purchase at thechairmandances.com. News of upcoming performances can be found via the group’s Facebook page (facebook.com/thechairmandances) and on Twitter (@chairmandances).
