Valerie West is a 15 year old singer aspiring to someday have her music touch people around the world. Valerie started singing when she was 7 in a competition called Delco Idol Jr. Among Delco Idol she has competed in many other vocal competitions. Such as Sea Isle City’s got Talent, Yachstock Rising Stars, and My Three Roses in Medford, NJ. Winning overall in each of them. Valerie has performed at venues such as The Hard Rock Cafe, Ardmore Music Hall, World Cafe, The Apollo Theater, The Trump Plaza, the annual Yachtstock Riverjam fundraising event, and many other stages. She also enjoys singing for special need kids and elderly residents when given the opportunity. Recently she has started accompanying herself with her keyboard. Apart from singing and playing, she also dances and acts.
In March of 2016, Valerie had the pleasure of training with the Kidz Bop Kids as their understudy for their national Life of the Party Tour, performing and rehearsing around the country. She was crowned Miss York County’s Outstanding Teen 2017 in January in the Miss America System. She enjoys advocating for her platform, “Turn the Beat Around: Keeping Music In Our Schools”, raising awareness for the importance of music education in our school systems today. Valerie went on to compete in the Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen pageant this June, and placed top 5 in the state!
