Wristbands, raffles and regulations!
The Haverford Music Festival gets bigger every year. While the festival is free and open to the public, Committee members and volunteers will be selling wristbands at each gateway to the festival grounds and throughout the area. Purchasing one or more wristbands for $2.00 will not only show support, it will enter the wearer into a raffle for a smorgasbord of prizes or certificates, donated by area businesses. Each raffle prize will be worth a minimum of $25.
Kids with a wristband will be allowed unlimited runs down the giant slide that will be in front of the Oakmont Administration Building.
To further ensure the event’s success, the committee members and volunteers will be stationed at the gates to the musical venues, the main stage behind Oakmont, on Eagle Road in front of Oakmont, on Darby Road across from the Lamplighter, and the inside venue, The Rock, on East Eagle Road.
At these gates all bags, backpacks and coolers will be checked carefully. No alcohol, glass bottles, firearms or other weapons including penknives, will be allowed into the music areas.
“These few safeguards will benefit everyone,” says Civic Council President Chris Whiting, who is one of the founding members of the music festival committee. “This is a family event first and foremost.”
