Vocal Motive
Vocal Motive is a 14 member, mixed voice a cappella group based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Founded in 2012 by longtime friends seeking a return to the a cappella singing of their college years, Vocal Motive is quickly finding its footing in the greater Philadelphia area. The group is known for the warmth and close harmonies of their music, as well as their entertaining show banter. Preferring a range of music styles, Vocal Motive presents a mix of contemporary, jazz, doo-wop and pop music. The group’s musical inspirations include the Beatles, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Jessie J, Ben E. King, Imagine Dragons and Queen, among others.
Vocal Motive has performed at both private functions and public events, including the For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation’s annual Beach Ball gala, the Yale Club of Philadelphia, the Interrobang: Improvised Musical Comedy show, the American A Cappella Alliance Spring Sing, and George’s After Dark. Upcoming concerts include two public events, one at Rosemont College, where they will be joined by another a cappella group The Philadelphia Counterparts, and the other at Melodies Café in Ardmore.
